Morsbags for everyone at the Community Allotment!

Have you ever heard of a 'Morsbag'? They are reusable cloth bags made from unwanted fabric (such as old curtains), and are a brilliant alternative to plastic bags. At the Community Allotment we garden organically and try to reduce our environmental impact as far as possible, so we were really pleased to be contacted recently by Rosie, the Leicestershire Morsbag coordinator. She and her team of volunteers make Morsbags and distribute them for free to people throughout the county, and they have very kindly donated some to our project. Volunteers have each been issued with a Morsbag in which to take home fruit and vegetables from the allotment, and they will bring them back each week to be refilled. This will cut down on the amount of plastic bags we use, contributing to our ethos of environmental sustainability.

Thanks Rosie and the Morsbag Team!
