Getting creative at the allotment

The allotment volunteers flexed their creative muscles this week to build some interesting structures from natural materials. With guidance from Tim Adkin, an expert in the field, the volunteers used coppiced hazel and willow to weave some beautiful hurdles (low fence-like structures). These add interest to the plot at this quiet time of the year, and break up the large beds into more manageable spaces. Despite the cold wet weather everyone had fun, and were revived by hot soup and lots of other edible treats throughout the day!
